Aralsk was one a busy fishing port on the banks of the Aral Sea. But the lake has all but disappeared when the feeding rivers where diverted for irrigation. You can zoom in and check out the abandoned ships at the southern end of the old harbour. And here is an interesting account from a travel blog.

Image of Earth as Wallpaper
It's super simple to set an image of earth as a desktop background. Just click once on an image and then right click on the larger picture that is shown and select set as wallpaper.

Even cooler though is to get an image of earth as desktop background/wallpaper on your mobile phone. Since I'm only using Opera Mini as web browser on my mobile nowadays (www.operamini.com, download now using your default mobile browser if you haven't already got it) I'll walk you through the simple steps using it!
1. Surf to imagesofearth.blogspot.com
2. Click/select an image
3. When the larger image is shown select "Get image..." on the top of the screen
4. Your are shown different resolutions, pick your choice
5. The download starts
6. Use your phones desktop background/wallpaper feature (on a SonyEricsson w810i you will get a choice when the download have finished to use the image as wallpaper!)
7. Enjoy!
