Aralsk was one a busy fishing port on the banks of the Aral Sea. But the lake has all but disappeared when the feeding rivers where diverted for irrigation. You can zoom in and check out the abandoned ships at the southern end of the old harbour. And here is an interesting account from a travel blog.
